Nestled conveniently in the heart of Oslo, just opposite Starbucks at Jernbanetorget 1, Kjøkken og Kaffe is a charming cafe that promises a delightful culinary experience amidst the bustle of the Oslo Central Station. This vibrant spot is perfect for those looking to savor both traditional Norwegian fare and comforting international favorites, all while enjoying the effervescent atmosphere that comes with its central location.

The cuisine at Kjøkken og Kaffe reflects a wonderful blend of flavors, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and served with care. One of the standout recommendations is the Kylling nudler, a harmonious creation that has garnered praise for its perfect balance of sauces and spices. Diners rave about this dish, describing it as one of the best noodle experiences in Oslo, with just the right amount of seasoning to elevate its deliciousness. The intricate flavors paired with the soft texture of the noodles transport your taste buds on a culinary journey.

On the traditional side, you’ll find dishes such as meatballs swimming in a richly flavored gravy that’s been highlighted by guests as the best they’ve tasted. While not every dish hits the mark — like the broccoli, which some found lacking in texture — the overall menu is well curated, ensuring there's something for everyone. There’s also a cozy coffee selection with varied results; while one can encounter a novice pourer, the aesthetic of a beautifully frothed latte certainly adds to the cafe's charm.

The ambiance at Kjøkken og Kaffe may be lively due to the constant flow of travelers, but this only adds to its allure. Visitors find it a comfortable locale for a quick lunch, allowing them to recharge before continuing their adventures in Oslo. Additionally, the friendly service enhances the dining experience, as you might just find yourself seated next to Paul, the beloved cook whose passion for food has touched many diners who’ve come through the cafe’s doors.

Whether you’re grabbing a meal to go or seeking a quiet spot to unwind with a cup of strong coffee, Kjøkken og Kaffe is a must-visit for anyone in Oslo. The combination of delectable food, approachable service, and the vibrant energy of Central Station creates a unique cafe experience that's hard to replicate. Don’t just take my word for it; as Sharmendra Jha succinctly puts it, it’s a perfect pitstop for a quick but satisfying lunch in the heart of the city.

Try their Kylling nudler.. one of the best noodles I have had in Oslo so far. Very balanced and right amount of sauces and spices used. The kaffe is just in the middle of Oslo sentral stasjon , just in front of Starbucks. Of course the place is bit noisy due to the travellers at central station but very comfortable place and easy to find for a quick lunch.

The food was really good especially the traditional Norwegian food but the broccoli was not good at all, the texture was all wrong. The gravy for the meat balls was the best. There was a novice coffee pourer so we forgave his very milky latte. The froth looked pretty though. The chic peas were fantastically mashed.
